The Tuya MQTT Broker provides massive (over 100M connections) online long-term MQTT connectivity and message distribution capabilities to IoT devices and user terminals worldwide. The system's main technology stack is Erlang.During the in-service period, I was mainly involved in improving the MQTT broker architecture and the entire development process, which significantly improved the online system's stability, observability, and maintainability.Introduced modern observability architecture, CI/CD for the team; introduced Rust (FFI) based NIF extensions for Erlang; improved the service registration and discovery mechanism based on etcd or other backends; fixed the etcd deployment and maintenance scenarios; and fixed and improved the Kafka based messaging scenarios; etc.At the same time, I develop various specifications, processes, and standards and output a large amount of documentation.Investigated and participated in the design of an eBPF-based network packet filtering and SYN flood protection system.I also contributed some PRs to the open-source community, such as Erlang libraries and Rust libraries.In addition, I have provided many consultant suggestions and architectural upgrades for the cloud department to improve its efficiency, such as improving the massive log indexing system and upgrading observability assurance (monitoring, alarming).
