Dr. Beloo Mehra is currently working as Director, BhāratShakti at Sri Aurobindo Society, focusing on areas related to Indian culture and Integral Yoga. She is also the Editor of Sri Aurobindo Society's monthly online journal, Renaissance Dr. Mehra has a PhD in Education from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, and a Master’s in Economics from Delhi School of Economics. For more than a decade she worked as a professor at Antioch University, USA, before moving to Pondicherry in 2007 to focus on Sri Aurobindo Studies. She has deep interest in Sri Aurobindo's and the Mother's vision and work on Integral Education, Indian culture, Social philosophy, Yoga and Spirituality. Since 2007 she has worked in the area of Sri Aurobindo Studies, as educator, researcher, writer and editor at Sri Aurobindo Center for Advanced Research (SACAR) and Sri Aurobindo Society. Over the years Dr. Mehra has also organized several seminars, conferences and other educational retreats, workshops and exhibitions in the field of Sri Aurobindo Studies.Dr. Mehra has taught several semester-length courses and workshops on topics related to social philosophy of Sri Aurobindo, Indian culture and Integral education, both at SACAR and Antioch University, USA. She has also taught a course on Indian culture at Auro University, Surat. Based on Sri Aurobindo's social-cultural thought, she has designed and taught two post-graduate semester-length courses for Pondicherry University. These courses are titled: Rethinking Feminism from Indian Perspectives and Social Philosophy of Sri Aurobindo. Over the past few years, Dr. Mehra has conducted several workshops at School of Education, Pondicherry University. She has also delivered talks at the invitation of Applied Psychology and Sociology departments as well as Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) of Pondicherry University. In addition to regularly writing for various journals and magazines focusing on Sri Aurobindo Studies, she has written several articles on issues related to Indian education, culture and society for several popular publications. She has several books and book chapters to her credit. Over the past few years, Dr. Mehra has published more than 30 articles in various publications and has delivered about 60 talks and presentations at seminars, conferences, workshops and other educational forums across the country - all related to her work in Sri Aurobindo Studies.
