Now / Healthcare Architect based in Madrid.Before / Project Manager in Emergency Response Projects working for refugees and IDPs in Ethiopia and South Sudan.This time tomorrow / where will we be?I acquired my degree at Universidad Politecnica de Madrid on 2008 with a research on architecture for developing countries. My degree project, “9 strategies for basic habitat in rural communities in Ghana”, was the WINNER of the "2009 ACXT IDOM third international award for student projects" and obtained an HONOURABLE MENTION in the 4th edition of Pasajes-iguzzini Prizes for Final Projects of Architecture. In 2009, I concluded my studies at ICHaB (UNESCO Chair in Basic Habitat from Politechnic University of Madrid) and obtained the title of “Expert at Habitat and Urban Development for South America and Africa”.I have extensive experience in different architectural firms in Spain working in housing, commercial, offices and urban projects, from competitions and ideas phases to Building Permits and Working Drawings.My international background is focused on emergency response projects working with refugees in Ethiopia and IDPs (Internal Displaced People) in South Sudan. In 2012 I worked for JRS Eastern Africa in Ethiopia, based in Melkadida Refugee Camp, building facilities as leading architect to serve the somali refugees.I spent the last two years in South Sudan. First working for the United Nations as Project Manager. As Head of construction for Upper Nile State I supervised and coordinated all projects concerning shelter, WASH, transportation and medical facilities to support UN and humanitarian agencies working in the region. Then I joined IOM in South Sudan as Site Planner. I was responsible for coordination of all activities related to land development in the Malakal Protection of Civilian Sites and team leader for the construction of the new Humanitarian Hub in coordination with all the implementing partners and local government authorities.I´m currently working as healthcare architect in Madrid.
