Proprieter Doebbert Law Offices, October 2002 to present. I have furnished general legal services since 1988, chiefly in the areas of real estate, social security disability, bankruptcy, civil litigation, and appellate representation.

County Attorney for Pope County, Minnesota, from January 1995 to January 2011. I represented the State’s interests in criminal prosecutions, child protection, child support, civil commitments, guardianships, civil cases, and in appeals from any of these proceedings. I also advised the Board of Commissioners in regard to civil, budgetary and operational matters, and functioned as the board’s primary drafter of legislation. I was the data practices officer for the county and provided legal and operational advice to all county agencies and department heads. I prepared, managed and presented the annual budget for the office and hired, trained, and supervised assistant county attorneys and support staff.

Legislative Research Staff, Minnesota House of Representatives. January 1979 through December of 1984, and from January of 1987 through August of 1988. During this time, I served as caucus research staff from 1979 through 1984, and 1987 through August 1988. My areas of responsibility were related to agriculture, natural resources, energy, local government, and transportation. Duties included review and analysis of legislation, drafting of amendments, and preliminary bill drafting. Duties also included review and analysis of portions of proposed state budgets, and analysis of the potential fiscal impact of bills in my assigned subject areas. During the 1987 and 1988 sessions I also served as floor advisor to the House Minority Leader.
