My time at Co-Line Welding Inc. has been great. I began on June 5th, 2017, at Co-Line through Aventure Staffing, a temp-agency, in Grinnell, Iowa. For the first two weeks I was an assistant to a welding-robot operator. Quickly after that my team leader put me in charge of another welding-robot to perform basic functions. During this time I also was set as the main operator of the company’s Shot-Blaster, which was a morning job. During the next two months, until the middle of August, I continued running the Shot-Blaster in the mornings, but the rest of my day would vary. On August 28th, 2017, I was hired on to the Co-Line Welding Inc. team, and was dismissed from Aventure Staffing. I became associated soon after with the Press Department. I was ran several types and sizes of presses, and had to maintain the quality and production of the product and the equipment. A few weeks after starting in the Press Department, I was set in charge of my own work station, which had an 800 ton press. I am required to maintain the press; document press maintenance, die information, product quality, and job tracking; complete work orders before due dates; and help wherever I can when I can. My work schedule is: 6:00AM-3:30PM, Monday-Friday, with optional, and occasionally mandatory, overtime; Hourly based pay. Have enjoyed my time at Co-Line Welding Inc. over the past half year, however, I plan to leave due to relocation of living arrangements.

During my five years at Ponderosa Supply Ltd. my tasks varied daily. My general tasks were over the counter sales, operating a forklift, managing warehouse materials, loading/unloading materials, delivering materials, quoting materials, creating custom estimates for construction projects, maintaining all material racks in the warehouse, building special projects (mostly out of wood), and many other things. I ran a computer throughout an average day, tracking estimates, sales-orders, invoices, purchase orders, inventory assessments, and checking deposits in Intuit Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel. I became very proficient in Microsoft Office and in book keeping during these years. I have generally good grammar skills, which I used often in making contracts for sold buildings. Daily I had to contact vendors and customers in order to coordinate sales, shipments, and other procedures. My work schedule was 7:30AM-5:00PM, Monday-Friday, and 8:00AM-12:00PM, Saturday; salary-based pay. Ponderosa Supply Ltd. is owned by Bill W. Ahrens, my father. It is mostly a family run business. Though I did well to work there for 5 years and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, I was eager to start expanding my work experience, grow in my ability to work with others efficiently, and to develop my applicable work ethics.
