I am a Data Analyst with experience using Excel and PostgreSQL to gather and present actionable insights from data sets. I excel at exploring data and building models to showcase valuable information from said data sets. I have a keen eye for noticing areas of improvement and creating reports to analyze those areas. At my most recent job, at a 24 hour medical lab, I created an Excel report to analyze workflow and workload of multiple departments. Through Vlookups and Pivot tables I have organized a clear report to showcase the data in an organized manor. This allows management to determine how many agents they need for each shift. Through this report we found that our method for gathering data was returning the wrong data sets and that was corrected, our peak hours differed from what they were assumed to be, and gave insight into how work is and should be distributed.With the sudden impact COVID has had on our society, our lab included. I took the lead in creating and maintaining a report to ensure tracking of each COVID test that has been received but not completed. Through this report our lab has been able to follow up on many specimens that may have otherwise been forgotten and caused massive problems with the facilities they belong to. On top of this report, I also maintain reports to track regular orders, orders with missing insurance information, and orders with missing collection information which is necessary for orders to be complete. Finally, I created many guides for my department when I noticed that our main guide was unwieldy. On top of this, I created quick reference lists to find important information for orders as well as guides to run each report I have created and maintain. This way I can be sure that things will still run smoothly once I leave.Outside of work I like to spend my time learning and playing with coding languages so that I can create my own video games. I started with Python and made a few simple text based games but have since moved on to C# so I could add more visuals and keep the code more organized. I love to create, whether it's creating new reports, manuals, video games, or music, I'm happiest when I am creating. I also love problem solving. Many video games I have enjoyed since childhood are fraught with difficult obstacles to overcome and have taught me to think outside the box to find answers. Although frustrating at first, running into obstacles is one the most rewarding experiences because of the sense of joy received once an answer to the obstacle is found.
