My background was as an engineering and airworthiness manager with daily, and short-term maintenance schedules. I then specialised in my passion which is flight test, currently within the UK military.I have been working in the UK military since 2013 and qualified from Empire Test Pilot School (ETPS) as a Class A Flight Test Engineer (FTE) in 2019, and have remained employed in cutting edge flight test since.As a Squadron Leader, I currently (since December 2022) hold the position of Lead Flight Test Engineer for the RAF’s ISTAR platforms on 56 Test and Evaluation Sqn, heavily involved with bringing the Protector MQ-9B into service.As an FTE I have spent 3 years leading trials on Typhoon. I have during this period I held the position of lead Air-Surface FTE managing major test programmes for systems and weapons integrations on the platform. These test programmes have included Cat 1 envelope expansion trails, integration of new systems onto Typhoon such as Litening 5 development work and Test Conducted live weapon events in both the UK and abroad.Over the past 10 years I have provided engineering management and leadership to maintainers with up to 110 personnel within my direct area of responsibility, whilst in the UK and overseas.
