Acted as a scrum and program architect on a team working on an internal application used to track project plans and budget forecasting for Accenture client projects. Primarily acted as an architect / lead on a project to deconstruct the existing monolithic application into a series of microservices based on Amazon Web Services and .NET Core.● Developed CloudFormation templates for serverless application stacks including AWS Lambda, DynamoDb, SQS and API Gateway.● Developed an extensible .NET Core (C#) based rule engine for calculating meaningful metrics related to client projects.● Developed .NET Core Web API for front end consumption of metrics through AWS API Gateway.● Developed Splunk based dashboards to monitor product performance and identify functional and performance issues.● Built Angular 9 / Angular Material responsive front end to display metrics and other business information in accordance with internal design standards and Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility standards.● Participated in program level architecture, release planning and other activities and worked closely with stakeholders in the business to ensure program success.

CarePortfolio is a bootstrapped healthcare software development and consulting firm serving end of life and elder care organizations. I developed a product concept and built a modern, cloud-based Electronic Health Record application to allow patients and caregivers to access patient data from diverse legacy EHR applications. The product was built with Angular 7, .NET Core Web API, and Cosmos DB technologies. I also developed an open source npm library for authenticating Angular4+ applications to Azure Active Directory. The library has reached over 5000 weekly downloads.In addition to my product development I have also provided IT and Business Intelligence consulting to hospice and palliative care clients.

JourneyCare is the largest nonprofit provider of palliative, supportive and end-of-life care in Illinois, growing from 200 to 1500+ employees through organic growth and mergers. After six years with JourneyCare I was tasked by management to establish and lead a new BI function to modernize analytics capabilities. I collaborated with the CEO and executive team to identify and implement enterprise reporting requirements in compliance with federal regulations.I led evaluation of tools (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI) for a BI program and selected Power BI due to a robust feature set and price advantage for nonprofits. Next I led an enterprise-wide Power BI and data warehouse implementation in collaboration with a third party vendor to transform and consolidate data from clinical and financial systems.My hands-on work included developing data models and measures for business analysis, complex SQL stored procedures for reports, financial and clinical reports, and sophisticated dashboards to visualize data for all levels of the organization using Power BI. We also converted SSRS based operational reports into actionable analytics dashboards.

As IT Director I had five reports and managed a $1.2M budget with responsibility for all IT infrastructure and strategic planning, in addition to hands-on responsibilities. This was during a time of significant growth, so our IT team focused on scaling of services and setting a project roadmap to account for increased needs. I led large special projects for Cisco Contact Center, ManageEngine service desk solution, VMWare ESXi 4 infrastructure, a Cisco data network, Cisco CallManager, a PRTG service monitoring system, a Cisco Communications Manager VoIP, a Citrix XenApp farm, and a SharePoint intranet. I also led report automation for financial/clinical reporting (SQL Server Reporting Services), served as team lead for two mergers (IT assessments), led an MDM initiative, and moved the organization to increase software development capabilities in order to reduce reliance on vendor products. Highlights in our software development efforts included a web/mobile patient records portal (.NET WebAPI/jQuery and later .NET Core/Angular4 that became a core system, a contract management application, C# APIS and multiple JavaScript/jQuery front-ends. I also mentored teams in best practices for version control, unit testing, and continuous integration.

EFHC is a 350-employee health center with seven sites. As Director of IT I collaborated with executives and the board to develop a comprehensive IT strategy on ~$500k annual budget, managing a six-member team and CAPEX/OPEX budgets. I defined and executed the strategy and three-year roadmap to modernize existing infrastructure and build a future-proof IT environment. In this role I also planned and implemented IT infrastructure for a new 24 exam room Pediatric Health Center.
