About Ben Barrows
As the Lead Integration Engineer at Futurex, I collaborate with technology partners, software engineers, and leadership to drive the success of multiple projects. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Mays Business School. In 2016 I decided to venture into the tech industry. I achieved the CompTIA Network+ certification and dove head first into a three-month Linux System Administration course hosted by the Rackspace Open Cloud Academy. This resulted in me achieving the Red Hat Certified System Administrator certification and being hired in my first tech role as a Technical Support Specialist L1 at WP Engine. I solidified and improved my knowledge of Linux and web hosting during my time there. I was eventually promoted to Technical Support Specialist L2, where I was a dedicated supported contact for Premium and Enterprise-level customers. I was also sent to WP Engine's Limerick, Ireland office to train a set of new Technical Support Specialist hires. While all this was happening, I also learned Python in my spare time. Before looking for my next position, I increased my skills further by achieving the AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification. I was hired at Futurex in September of 2019 as a Support Engineer, where I expanded my knowledge of networking and cryptography. About one year later, I was promoted to the Integration Engineer role. In this role, I learned over 50 new technologies by being the sole person tasked with testing integrations between Futurex devices and third-party applications. In November of 2022, I was promoted to my current position as Lead Integration Engineer, leading a team of other Integration Engineers. As Lead Integration Engineer, I am dedicated to expanding the capabilities and effectiveness of the Integration Engineering team and pursuing the CISSP certification to further advance my expertise in the field.
