About Ben Bascuk
I'm a second-year at Syracuse University studying Public Policy at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and Broadcast and digital Journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.Originally from Waterville, Ohio (near Toledo), I loved storytelling from an early age. I'd been performing on the stage since I was seven before finding a passion for social advocacy in high school. I started to say “yes” to every experience, and through discomfort, discovery followed.Discovering others’ stories became an obsessive passion. Writing, social change, and mental health advocacy became big parts of my life, leading to my current study of policy formulation/implementation and media production with an emphasis on public affairs.Since coming to SU, I've been proud to work as an on-air analyst for CitrusTV's political show, serve the community with OrangeSeeds, grow professionally with Zeta Phi Eta, write for the DO, formulate branding with Hill Communications, perform with First-year Players, and hit the slopes with the Ski Team.I’m looking forward to connecting. Please feel free to reach out. I am also on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook: @benbascuk
