My time there has been spent ordering receipting and delivering parts required for the building of cars. I have to maintain the quantities of goods held forward on the assembly track. If this was not completed would prevent the build of cars. During my time here I have changed the layout of the delivery area so allowing the unpacking and loading of goods to be delivered smoother and on time. During my time with the RAF I have worked within various stores looking after the stores and maintaining the smooth and efficient running of bays and operational aircraft.Worked with the Rolls Royce managed engine bay where I was in charge of looking after all engine components and ensuring all parts were delivered to the correct place so not to hold up the pulse line from producing the set target of engines. This also involved liaising with Rolls Royce for delivery of serviceable engines to the correct location. Worked within Armament Engineering Bay ensuring all five bays under my supervision were equipped with necessary parts and tools to ensure all kanbans were kept full. Currently working within Tornado squadron stores this involves taking calls of the customers for the order of parts, picking equipment and delivering within an allocated time so the aircraft does not miss its next sortie. I also have to manage the return of unserviceable equipment back into the repairing workshops to maintain serviceable stock levels. I have to speak with a variety of different external companies to chase up orders to stock.I have also worked under extreme pressure during a month 4 tour to Qatar supporting frontline aircraft. During this time I was responsible for maintaining a robust air freight bridge between Qatar and UK. I was responsible for looking after a total of 14 aircraft. I also managed to recover £275,000 worth of equipment that had been struck off charge. In all of what I have done has involved various types of parts including batch items, lifed items and serial numbered equipment, of which I set up a database for all equipment with a shelf life so the date for re-inspection is not missed and saving on man hours having to fill in paperwork for issue of out of life stock as well as having to reissue. I have also managed, mentored and trained new staff on arrival to unit.
