I serve as second-in-command on the communications team for the City Manager, who directs and oversees the 6,000+ employees who make up the City Administration. My responsibilities include:Press and Media Relations — I plan and execute media campaigns for the City Manager's Office and collaborate with PIOs across the City Administration to deliver media wins, both proactive and reactive. I serve as a point of contact for members of the press, write press releases and media alerts, and manage all media-related public records requests received by the City.Communications Strategy — I develop approachable, effective communications campaigns that inform the public of the City Administration's work and promote empowered conversation. I also co-lead a collaborative, cross-departmental action team focused on developing sustainable city-wide communications and community engagement best practices.Executive and Internal Communications — I write and edit speeches, talking points, and spoken remarks for the City Manager, as well as prepare her for media interviews and public engagements. I assist City Administration leaders with internal communications needs, including memos, staff emails, newsletters, and City Council presentations and announcements.

I proofed and edited marketing and communications assets for multinational clients in the medical device field. These included sell sheets, customer letters, emails, presentations, white papers, talking points, and more.Over the course of two years, I revised and expanded KB COMM’s comprehensive reference documentation and training protocol — all 250+ pages of it.I revised, formatted, and processed regulated technical documentation for clients in the medical, pharmaceutical, and scientific industries.

I served as a leader on the DSO's Communications team, managing my direct report (the Public Relations Coordinator) and working mainly in the following areas:Communications Strategy — I helped the DSO answer two important questions: “What does this say about us?” and “How does this serve our patrons, donors, and community?”Brand and Content — I wrote, edited, and proofread a variety of DSO collateral, including donor solicitations, print and digital marketing deliverables, institutional communications, and more. I grew and promoted the DSO brand through social media and innovative storytelling. I also served as Editor of the DSO’s program notes magazine, "Performance," and managed the production of other printed program materials.Press and Media Relations — I took the lead on press releases, media pitching, interview prep, and story coordination. I maintained key relationships with local, regional, national, and international press, and I found innovative ways to expand the DSO's media reach with partners large and small.
