I am currently an Associate Director with more than 16 years pensions experience. I have a varied portfolio of large, listed, multinational Trustee retirement clients with £billions in UK pension liabilities and lead on the cyclical Trustee processes, attending client meetings and advising Trustee clients on technical and complex pensions, HR, accounting and actuarial issues. I support Trustees on the full range of scheme actuary and corporate advice including buy-ins and buy-outs, liability management, funding, investment and other strategic advice such as innovative risk reduction solutions to corporates. I have also led on many actuarial valuations for the Consulting team and spent time on secondment in Lisbon in 2019 gaining key skills in the actuarial valuation field. I also have extensive experience as an asset liability Suite and Pensions valuer delivery specialist, GMP equalisation and conversion project lead, and have led on a key Climate Change valuation model project for the firm. • Advice on long-term funding strategy• Advice on triennial actuarial valuations, including funding and Pension Protection Fund (PPF) exercises• Provision of schedule of contributions and recovery plan following the formal valuation• Review of the suitability of all actuarial factors including transfer values and updating, where required• Installation of scheme on Asset Liability Suite• Preparation of annual actuarial reports providing an update of funding position• Attendance at meetings including trustee board meetings, training, advice on current pension issues, legislative changes and technical updates• General benefits consulting advice; for example, review of trustee report and accounts• Advice on PPF levies• Individual calculations required for one-off circumstances and/or requiring actuarial review• Providing client support with GMP reconciliation, rectification and equalisation• Key client relationship holder• Managing junior associates on client teams

Analytical actuarial work on a portfolio of defined benefit pension arrangements. Key responsibilities:• Project management of tri-annual actuarial valuations, annual funding updates, FRS 17 and IAS 19 accounting valuations, including preparation of the assumptions papers, disclosures and final reports• Producing liability figures for tri-annual and PPF valuations• Accounting disclosures • Annual updates• Individual technical calculations• Undertaking feasibility studies for liability management exercises• Reviewing scheme factors - early retirement, late retirement and cash commutation factors and carrying out and checking various types of individual member calculations e.g. individual transfer values, calculating the impact of funding levels due to early retirements• Risk management exercises (including buy-out options, enhanced transfer values and early retirement options)• Reviewing models and ensuring they represent the scheme accurately, being competent in attending to details of the scheme benefit structures
