I work with a small but mighty team headed by Dr. Gerald Parker to support the Pandemic & Biosecurity Program's mission of realizing a world safe, secure, and resilient against biological threats through effective and non-partisan policy research.In this role, I am currently focused on developing policy papers on building vaccine manufacturing capacity worldwide and bolstering prudent oversight of the life sciences. I also helped lead the planning and execution of several events, ranging from small stakeholder workshops to large summits.

As a biosecurity governance fellow at CISAC's Stanford Existential Risks Initiative, I investigated models for institutional and US government policies for overseeing dual-use life sciences research with the goal of reducing unintended risks from advances in virology and synthetic biology while promoting life-saving innovation in those fields.

I worked for six months analyzing the impacts of climate action for public sector clients across the world.To support a proposed green bank in a developing country, I created and delivered an Excel calculator for the economic and climate impacts. This work included proposing a modelling approach, incorporating client feedback, and writing up the final methodology. For a scond project analyzing the job creation potential of climate-smart investments in major cities, I developed the underlying data set and worked with the client to understand and set requirements. The resulting tool has been used to guide decison-making in 15 cities around the world.Throughout my internship, I led or participated in weekly team meetings, created slide decks, and presented drafts of work to clients. I have also worked closely with my supervisors and other team members, including orienting and delegating tasks to a newer intern.

At the Human Nature Lab I supported a graduate student's analysis of the link between US elections and COVID-19. In this role I collected, cleaned, and performed preliminary analyses of data in both R and Excel. I also worked closely with other researchers to understand and advise statistical approaches. The 538 article written at the end of the analysis has been attached below and includes a link to the article preprint. The research has also been published in Nature Human Nature

As an intern in the IT department, I researched robotic process automation (including communicating with vendors) and presented my findings to a team, leading to the launch of a pilot project. I also wrote automated test scripts for company websites.
