I've been involved in the Telecommunication and IT industries for 20 years. 2 years ago, I decided to challenge myself, and have entered into Software Development where my primary focus has been on bringing data analytics and automation to the Cooperative Telecom Industry. My group strives to be agile, flexible, and responsive with our web based software applications. I primarily manage our growing Linux server infrastructure, and also focus on writing backend Python applications that interact with Telecom equipment and vendor APIs. I have also written several JavaScript, single-page applications, and have written two Electron applications to support our Telecom Engineering and Records departments. I am currently working on my LPIC, and learning about Docker. I enjoy keeping up on the latest technology trends, and honing my software development skills.My group just completed a Cisco UCM phone system replacement with an Asterisk Based system. This was large project that reduced an 11 server Cisco system to a two server Asterisk system supporting over 200 phone sets. This project put to use all my 20 years of Telecom and IT Networking skills as well as project management skills to stay ahead of our deadline and under budget. I was able to lead my team of software developers into a world of VLANs, multicast, and IP routing they knew very little about, and finish this project successfully.
