I am a transdisciplinary researcher who specialises in urban change in relation to questions of equality, diversity and inclusion. I have been teaching, researching, curating and programming on urbanism for more than two decades. My book Remaking London: Decline and Regeneration in Urban Culture (IB Tauris, 2013) won the 2013 Jane Jacobs Urban Communication Foundation Award. I have just published a second book on London, Queer Premises: LGBTQ+ Venues Since the 1980s (Bloomsbury Academic, June 2023). I have extensive experience in leadership roles, as former Director and Co-Director of UCL Urban Laboratory, and as Faculty Lead for The Bartlett at UCL East over a decade in planning UCL's new campus in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
