Capital project manager role in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Project portfolio included new Cl2 drying tower (PSM Covered), office building renovation, truck unloading fall protection, lab renovation/instrumentation, and HCl safety systems.Key Initiatives:* Successfully created and devised scope of work for capital projects and presented data/business case to Olin’s upper management for approval, utilizing front-end loading (FEL) process. * Oversaw and led projects from initial design through final installation and commissioning. * Managed and maintained budget, schedule, and safety compliance. * Developed and led cross-functional teams for each project, ensuring all business needs and objectives were fully met and implemented. * Served as site leader for Management of Change (MOC) work system. Responsible for training all employees and confirming company procedures and site compliance standards were enforced and applied.

Responsible for day-to-day operations of a 24/7 manufacturing plant. Areas of responsibility included bleach production, sodium hydroxide & chlorine production, and shipping (railcars, trucks, and barges). Played a critical role in advancing area-specific operations to meet and exceed plant / business goals including safety, cost, and quality. Key Initiatives:* Managed full scope of improvement projects including Management of Change preparation, operating procedure / technical documentation updates, and pre-startup safety reviews. * Developed and implemented commissioning plan for a $3.5M bleach dilution project. Composed and executed all operating procedures and training materials for project. * Researched and instituted an alternative use for off-spec caustic with an annual cost avoidance of $200K. * Led team to improve steam performance for site evaporator; initiative provided annual cost savings of $800K. * Directed interdisciplinary teams to complete root cause investigations (5-Why/Apollo) and process hazard analyses (HAZOP/LOPA) for assigned process areas. Formally trained as HAZOP/LOPA facilitator. * Tapped by site leadership on two occasions to present completed cost savings projects to Olin’s CEO and upper management team in Houston, Texas.

I completed 3 co-op terms at SABIC: Innovative Plastics between August 2013 - May 2015 (approximately one year total). During each term, I worked on projects devoted to asset reliability, process optimization, and safety.

I completed a summer internship with ACT in Nairobi, Kenya focused on conservation agriculture. I gathered and compiled data from farmers on their current weed management methods, livestock inventory, and farming techniques. I also wrote two papers on weed management in Laikipia East, Kenya and gender integration in conservation agriculture.
