I've had the chance to advise several companies in the last few years. My experience helps me zero in quickly on the actions companies need to take for success. I lean towards the pragmatic approach. No fancy, complicated frameworks for me. Things are simple. Business almost always works best if you keep it simple. Common sense almost always comes out on top. Relevant experience helps you see clearly!My experience is in the data domain. Data is interesting because it's a dimension removed from reality. We manage it, we govern it, and ultimately we create with it, but all that we create is still just a representation of reality. Our objective with data is often to be more efficient and effective with our resources to create better and more reliable data products..... But that is not the purpose. The purpose of why we strive for excellence in data management is to hopefully make better decisions, and have a positive impact on the real world that we're modeling with data.
