As a second year Digital Media and Society student at the University of Sheffield, I am incredibly interested in digital media and the power it holds in shaping business, society, culture and politics. My education at university has given me a strong insight into the intersection of technology, society and communication. For example, my coursework has delved into the ways in which social media apps (such as TikTok) can be used to shape consumer culture and consumption behaviours. Furthermore, the modules I have taken have given me a great understanding of how narratives are crafted within a digital landscape, including how social issues are presented on different digital platforms and the power of social media in forming public opinion. After university, I hope to pursue a job within social media management and marketing. I believe my passion for digital media, my digital analysis skills, my creativity within media production, and my strong communication skills would only grow and foster within this sector.

  Currently volunteering at a student-run radio station at the University of Sheffield where I host, produce, and broadcast a weekly radio show. I also upload these episodes as a podcast on Spotify. This involves working collaboratively to ensure an efficient environment and a high standard of production. My communication and technical skills have sharpened while also advancing my creativity in content creation. It demonstrates my ability and confidence to work both creatively and effectively within media production and distribution.
