Mr. Chen was the Chief Technology Officer of Kingston Technology, a global $16B DRAM and Flash product company located in Fountain Valley, California. Mr. Chen contributed to growing Kingston Flash/SSD product business from $20M in 2004 to more than $16B in 2021. He was responsible for managing and developing the whole suite of flash memory products and consumer products from the very beginning of the Kingston Digital BU, ranging from USB, MMC, SD, eMMC, SSD, and peripherals. He joined Kingston as the Director of Engineering, and later promoted to VP Engineering, and then the CTO.

Mr. Chen was the Head of Engineering of HyperX, a Gaming foucused Business Unit of Kingston Technology in Fountain Valley, CA. He built up the engineering team from scratch in two years during his tenure from 2016 through 2018. The engineering team managed to launch various gaming products including gaming headsets, gaming keyboards, gamimg mice, and other gaming peripherals. HyperX BU was later acquired by HP in June 2021.

Mr. Chen was the CEO of Ateonix Networks Inc., a startup network attached storage company in Fremont, California from 2000 through 2003. Ateonix was one of the first companies providing NAS solutions based on embedded Linux residing entirely on NAND flash memory.

Mr. Chen was the CEO of ATronics International Inc., a PC peripheral company in Fremont, California. Through his tenure in ATronics, the team developed and marketed one of the first PC/AT compatible mother boards in 1985. Multiple PC peripherals and technologies including PC chipset, IDE chipset, PC graphics, image capture, hardware RAM Disk, disk caching and dial-up networking were developed and successfully launched. One of the most notable products was the SX Now!, a CPU upgrade board developed for Kingston Technology that converted the IBM PS2 80286 computers to true 80386 computers to run the first Microsoft Windows 3 in 1991. It had since helped Kingston open the doors to the US corporate markets.

Mr. Chen was the Engineering Manager in Everex Systems, a startup PC peripheral company in Mountain View, California from 1983 through 1985. Mr. Chen designed and developed a series of IBM PC peripherals, helping the company to go IPO in 1985.

Mr. Chen worked as a Design Engineer in Alpha Micro Systems, a small Super-Micro computer company in Irvine, California from 1981 through 1983. Mr. Chen designed and developed a series of peripherals and software products. Alpha Micro went IPO in 1983.
