Project engineering focusing on solid waste management, recycling, and organics processing. I worked on large scale commercial composting facilities, anaerobic digestion, material recovery facilities (MRFs), and solid waste collection and disposal programs.

As Staff Engineer I was involved in many aspects of engineer design and operations and maintenance decisions. I undertook detailed design of shredding and separation equipment lines and project managed the installation of these equipment lines. These equipment lines included shredders, screeners, conveyors, and optical separators that were used to fragment materials and then separate these into streams of recyclable products. Furthermore, I also coordinated the selection, procurement, and installation of a scrap material baler in Mexico as part of setting up a new operating facility. In addition to facility engineering I assisted with operational matters such as renewing MOE permits and analysing operations costs. Example projects include carrying out a study into equipment usage that resulted in a drastic reduce in vehicle idling and analysing the performance of dust suppression products to lower environmental impacts.
