My role is to collate "Data jobs" from various job boards and enter them on a Google Sheet document.To achieve this I coded a scraper program in Google Apps Script that can be set up to scrape data from any job board site (currently set up to scrape from 6 different websites)This data is then fed into a google sheet document for me to then browse through and- select the appropriate jobs- do further sanitisation and correction of the data if neededThe sheet is also set up with various features to- check if listings from multiple different websites are for the same job (accounting for slight differences in job titles and company names)- Highlight which jobs are past their closing date- Highlight if a job listing has been updated- Highlight which job listings are from agencies- Output certain selected jobs in Markdown format for posting to Slack.Over time I have optimised the google sheet template so that it now has dedicated sheets that are used for indexing particular information. This allowed me to speed up job comparison scripts significantly so that run in O(log n) time instead of O(n) time without the index tables.

I aim to empower people (of all experience levels) with the confidence to create, update and maintain their own websites. Content Management Systems and Software as a Service solutions (e.g. Wordpress, Drupal, Wix, Squarespace) can provide anyone with the tools they need to create impressive websites for themselves, without having to write code or learn any other specialised knowledge.As a consultant, I hold one-off sessions (remotely or in person) with clients to help figure out what software solution will work best for their needs, skills and budget. I can then be available to provide training sessions on the initial set up process of the website, on altering how the website looks and on editing the content of the website.Additionally, I am also very happy to assist individuals and organisations in learning how to make alterations to their existing websites, that have already been set up, however big or small those changes may be.For every client, I aim to provide full instructions on how to repeat the tasks that were covered in our sessions together. I provide this documentation as an aid to assist those who attended the sessions in being able to replicate the same, or similar, tasks again. The documentation can then additionally be used to assist in training other people within a client's organisation.

The solution is assessed on its delivery to specification, functionality, and usability.Portfolio Project #2: “Company Directory”A more rigorous reply to this specification was required as a user requirements document was needed to be prepared which, when signed off, triggers the release of SQL allowing to develop a “mobile-first” application to maintain a company personnel database (MySQL).
