About Ben Cryan

DATA DRIVEN DESIGN Is our focus at Praxis Engineering and its a pleasure to lead a team of highly motivated, progressive, innovative and forward thinking road designers. We not only design and deliver great projects, but are building systems and using technology to deliver value engineering solutions for our clients. The data we use to make our decisions reinforces to our clients that they are achieving a vale for money solution. My previous experience is significant with more than 22 years' experience in the design of major roads, highways, rail, drainage systems and services, both locally and internationally, with project values of up to $12 billion. Having spent a considerable part of my career "on the tools" I understand how 3d modelling packages work, how scope of services should be setup and how long design tasks should take allowing accurate tracking of all projects. This experience provides clients confidence that projects will be delivered on time, on budget and of a very high quality. Outside of delivering major infrastructure projects my main passion is Value Engineering and ensuring no cost saving opportunities are left on the table. At Praxis we have developed inhouse systems and software to ensure this, and in doing so, our clients have full transparency of estimated costs, progress and design savings at all times. Our systems have been proven on the Snowy 2.0 project where over 70km of internal roads were value engineered with an approximate 44% cost saving reduction being identified and later implementd. Further major projects worked on are:- Snowy 2.0 - Road and Traffic Technical Advisor and Value Engineer Lead for Snowy Hydro Ltd- Woolgoolga to Ballina (W2B – 150km) - Alignment lead for Pacific Complete through the detail design stage;- Warrell Creek to Nambucca Heads (20km) - Alignment lead for for RMS (on behalf of Arup)- Peninsula Link Motorway in Melbourne - Lead designer for Vic Roads (on behalf of WSP) - PNG LNG Gas Pipeline FEED joint venture - Civil Engineer / designer for Exxon Mobile (on behalf of KBR)- 2012 Olympic development in London - Lead Engineer / designer (on behalf of Arup London)- Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo - Lead Engineer (on behalf of Arup London)
