Overall responsibility for the safe and effective operation of HV networks at 132kV/33kV/11kV/6.6kV by undertaking: • QGC SAEP Level of Authorisation• Control and monitor safe entry of personnel into QGC substations• Continuously monitor the condition of all primary and secondary plant necessary for safe and effective operation of the QGC Power Management (SCADA) system• Prepare, check and authorise the necessary switching sheets for planned / unplanned maintenance, breakdown and project work as requested by the works planner / permit issuers• Undertake outage coordination, by liaising with QGC Operations, 3rd party operators of QGC Assets and Electricity Utilities to coordinate the isolation of HV Plant and control systems as per QGC policies, guidelines, procedures and instructions• Undertake switching coordination, in liaison with the relevant field crews, to isolate items of commissioned plant from the network to allow safe access to that plant. • Manage contingencies during forced outages by preparing and executing contingency plans for critical HV plant;• Proactively manage network conditions brought about by forced outages and emergency conditions in a timely and effective manner to minimise the impact of such outages • Liaise with Electricity Utilities and Gas Production in the restoration process after such conditions• Managing network operational compliance to National Electricity Rules and Commercial Connection and Access agreements with Electricity Suppliers;• Incident and emergency remote coordination• Ensure communication is effectively managed between Field Operations and UCR;• Control, evaluation and monitoring of all contractor and third party activities; • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Standard Operating Procedures and Isolation Procedures for HV switching • Assist to Identify and deliver improvements to electrical performance and maintenance needs by taking a hands on approach with field operations

• Whilst operating as a High Voltage Operator within the Oil & Gas industry:• Writing, checking and authorisation of High Voltage Switching Sheets• Carrying out High Voltage Switching Sheets from both the Substation and the Upstream control room (UCR)• Writing, checking and authorisation of Secondary Systems Isolation Sheets• Writing, checking and authorisation of new safety procedures within the company• Writing, checking and authorisation of JSEAs, SWMS• Writing, checking and authorisation of Permit to work, Isolation Certificates, Step back forms and referral to System drawings and single Line Diagrams • Working under ‘Tag-out & Lock-out’, ‘Lock Box’, ‘SIMOPS’ and Oil & Gas permitting systems• Holding permits for subcontractors to work safely in live high voltage enclosures• Re-commission of High Voltage Substations due to spot-checks on commissioned plant from external contractor finding defects• Conduction of meetings with superiors to explain defects, the impact on time constraints and the HV team’s unwillingness to sacrifice safety in the name of meeting deadlines• Monitor system security from the Upstream Control Room

• Carry out monthly field safety audits, monitor and report on the effectiveness of control measures and ensure compliance to Powerlink Electrical Safety Rules, site safety plans and environmental management plans for all assigned works.• Manage on-site contracted works in accordance with established contracts and/or within procurement policies and procedures.• Provide estimates, scope new work, plan work teams using a skill mix that minimises outages and maximises efficiency in completing work.• Schedule works, arrange materials, allocate work teams and equipment, and apply for access to network equipment for assigned three months of work.• Coordinate and direct all site work teams to achieve the most efficient and cost effective service delivery in line with estimates of time, cost, and within the approved scope.• Monitoring, reporting and taking corrective action where authorised to achieve performance targets. • Maintain the works management / project management / quality business systems to provide real time performance data.• Manage the restoration of the transmission network both during normal hours and after hours when required to minimise outage times, with minimal impact on planned work.• Work towards continually improving processes and work methods to achieve greater customer satisfaction.
