As Shared Services Manager, I was responsible for site based human resources, workplace health and safety, facilitiies, business support, including finance and IT. Working in partnership with functional departments, we were able to deliver excellent outcomes for our projects in mining during challenging contract commissioning phases and transition into normal operations.

As a short term contract role, I was requried to travel across the Cannington and Groote Eyelandt mining opertations to provide senior human resources consultancy. Key deliverables included undertaking workplace investigations, identifying and assessing issues and recommending appropriate interventions. I also provided high level of conflict resolution and complaints / grievance management by hearing and as appropriate, mediating, resolving or referring employee concerns, problems and complaints.

Reporting to the Executive Vice President Human Resources Global based in Canada, I was accountable for the entire Human Resource function across Australia including Payroll and Business services. As the senior leader, I established all aspects of contemporary human resources including on-board process and systems, Industrial Relations, Organisation Development as well manage contract tenders and agreements in conjunction with the Operations group.

Responsible for and managing a team of 20 professionals, this role looked after six of the seven business units and includes all engineering and corporate business functions within Ergon as well as the SPARQ Solutions IT Company. Core deliverables included the leadership and delivery of contemporary human resources objectives including the development and implementation of a Business Partnering model, Talent Management and Organisational Development initiatives. Accountable for all HR and IR decisions across these business units.

Responsible for the Banking business unit and special projects including the negotiation of the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA); merger and acquisitions and the workplace safety review, I reported to the General Manager Human Resources.
