My final rotation in the Downer Graduate Programme was completed on the Porirua Wastewater Retention Tank (PWWRT) in Wellington.

In my third rotation, I worked as a Graduate Structural Engineer with Hawkins at Wynyard Quarter Site 6 in Auckland. Site 6 consists of four buildings - three of which are structural steel and concrete with a shared two story basement, and the fourth being a 3 story timber building. My main role on this project was to perform structural QA inspections on block walls, slabs, insitu walls, capping beams and lift pits to ensure works were carried out as per design specifications. This required working closely with Holmes NZ (Structural Consultant) to ensure site inspections went smoothly and to raise/resolve any clashes/queries. I also planned and managed the construction of block walls site wide, as well as assisted in managing temporary works site wide such as the TPLs and propping/shoring.

I started my role as a Graduate Engineer on Stage 2A of the SH58 Safety Improvements Project. This was my first rotation in the Downer Graduate Programme. •Planning and management for FBS (Foam Bitumen Stabiliser), asphalt and chipseal works.•Supervision of road barrier installation - wire rope and w-section barriers.•QA inspections of in-situ ground beams and drain channels.My second rotation in the Downer Graduate Programme was on the Porirua Area Capacity Enhancements (PACE) Project in Plimmerton. • Managed construction of in-situ concrete walls, nibs, and footpaths – reinforcement inspections, concrete pours. • Managed signal ducting packages site wide – survey mark out, installation of in ground ducts and pits. • Planned works on site for block of lines and critical path activities.

I worked as a Engineer Intern with Downer on Stage 1 of the State Highway 58 (SH58) Safety Improvements Project during the university holidays from 2019 to 2021. • Worked alongside the Downer paving team as a Surfacing Engineer - created paving plans, compiled quality documentation.• Presented health & safety inductions to keep others safe on site.• Monitored environmental controls for bulk earthworks - DEBs, SRPs and silt fences.• Carried out testing on site for quality assurance.• Practiced survey equipment using Trimble.

I worked part-time at Gales Cafe during high school and university.• Served customers daily - developed strong interpersonal skills.• Worked well with staff - provided a positive work environment.
