My skills to communicate with bereaved families has enabled myself to build trust and a rapport that has client families come back and engage my services at a time when another death occurs within a family unit. Learning to become an educator to families of the reasons why we have funeral services for a loved one, and the importance of the different elements of ceremony has greatly helped many families to make informed decisions around funeral arrangements to assist with positive emotional outcomes for their grief journey.

I have developed my leadership skills over many years. I feel the passion I possess in my role as both a Funeral Director and Embalmer has enabled me to grow to confidently learn and share my skills and knowledge with my colleagues. Whenever I am in a position where other people rely on me, I ensure I know the role description and all responsibilities included. This is important because if the leader is unsure about his or her role then everyone else will be as well.
