As director of 1STRUCT I have had multiple responsibilities within the company. I prepare detailed proposals and documents including scopes of work, contracts, material list, prime cost/provisional sum lists and variations. I also perform project management roles liaising with clients, developing time schedules with call forward sheets, material safety data sheets, OH&S policies, safety work method statements and implementing them on site whilst supervising jobs. The type of construction 1STRUCT provides covers anything from residential extensions and renovations to new builds and commercial work. I manage and oversee projects from the initial step of estimating and contracting through to co-ordination of all engineers, architects, trades and certifiers to the final stage of completion.

Sub-contracted to various building companies performing carpentry tasks. Worked on new residential builds mainly framing, roof trusses and carpentry fit-out.

I commenced my carpentry apprenticeship in 2003 and worked with multiple builders via All Trades Queensland. Through this time I completed my Cert lll in General Construction and the relevant competencies on-site to gain my Carpentry Licence.

I worked with Arondale Interiors as a labourer for a year and a half. During that year I worked on a project at the University of Queensland assisting throughout the whole job. I gained a basic understanding of the construction industry through this role and gained a passion for construction.

I worked at The Bath & Tile Shop Hawthorne for 6 months. Here I gained experience in the tile industry, specifically cutting tiles, assembling mosaics and packaging tiles. I also interacted with customers and gained valuable customer service experience.
