My job has contributed to my role as a father and husband. It has also allowed me to find great ways to express myself and share some of my passions with future generations. While working with the City of Greenacres, we have received countless accolades for Our Out-of-School Time programs. We are a nationally accredited program and always strive for best practices. As I continue my journey with the City, I am grateful for the impact I can make on my community every day I walk through the door.I have been working with youth for over 15 years. In high school, I started volunteering at various organizations and then began my working career with the City of Greenacres. I have worked as a frontline staff member and continued my education and knowledge to become a supervisor. My career over the years has taught me that our youth are full of great ideas and vital to our growth as a community. However, they need more adults who will listen to them and structured places to utilize their strengths and opinions. I aim to ensure that every youth I can work with understands their worth and guide them to the best of my abilities while learning from them.Outside of working, my love for cooking, poetry, and improv helps create positive ways to relieve stress. They also allow me to practice my patience and provide insight into life's positives. There are so many negative things to focus on in the world; sometimes, I want to experience the small joys. These are the lessons and goals I want to share with my son, along with the youth I work with. Work is avoidable, but how we do our work is up to us. Therefore, work for me is improving and inspiring every day, whether as a coworker, parent, student, peer, son, wife, or myself. I'm not chasing perfection; I'm chasing consistency.My end goal is to run or be a part of an organization that helps provide youth and adults the opportunity to foster their talents to sustain a thriving community. While also having the ability to be flexible with my schedule and make time for my family and our adventures.
