The role is extremely hands on, from business planning, prospecting, customer facing appointments and staff / office management - all whilst assuring that we are aggressively promoting the CBD Victoria brand to the SMB marketplace.

Promoted to the role of Sales Manager after my strong successes in my previous Senior BDM role. Over the 4 years in this capacity, I was able to hire, grow and develop the team whilst winning 2 Sales Manager of the Year awards nationally within Optus SMB division (Over 50 Channels involved). I achieved this through being highly engaging to my staff, developing a positive and exciting culture, and providing a strong mentor program to aid development. My last year in this role was the highlight of my tenure - with the team delivering the highest profit recorded in the companies 10 year history.

My first foray into the business and corporate world - I quickly found my niche that opened multiple doors - telephone prospecting and aggressively marketing myself. Whilst only 21, i was still able to achieve 4th nationally in the National Salesperson of the Year for Optus SMB Division. Using this as motivation, i was able to win the Optus SMB Salesperson of the Year each of the following 3 years - competing with over 200 BDM's nationally for the award. I was able to achieve this by being highly motivated, taking responsibility for all my own lead generation and prospecting, whilst adopting a less hard sell approach and more advisory role whilst attending customer facing appointments.
