Construction Superintendent for 8build leading site activities to refurbish the premises of PTE architects building - Diespeker Wharf. The old Mill it sits beside Regent’s Canal in central London, previously restored in 1994 and now going through its second refresh with 8build.The building has been creatively adapted with the insertion of mezzanine levels which hang from the existing trusses. At the lower ground floor, impressive pyramidal foundations have been excavated to double up the floorspace. A modern extension and frameless glass doors have been added.The building house 20,000 sq.ft. of offices, conference rooms, new reception and basement configurations with elements of terrazzo stone finishes.

New build multifamily unit consisting of 12 apartments across four storeys. The budling also incorporated a retail unit at ground level and an external carpark car to the rear of the premiss. The building had a mansard roof, gault brickwork, powder coated aluminium windows and zinc cladding.The super structure consists of concrete piled foundations and high-density blockwork, precast concrete slabs and stairs. The steel work that can be seen in these photos was craned in and was particularly challenging given the space available to other buildings.The project required a great deal of daily monitoring of trades and tracking progress to keep programmed activities moving. Trades like scaffold striking and installation kept in time with bricklaying and crane lifts all required good communication and coordination.

Construction Superintendent role delivering a fast track 20 week programme for a large CAT B internal fit out. The 2.5 million pound scheme is across three floors and will provide new large gym and cardio facilities, shower rooms alongside 4000 sq.f of dry labs and office space.Details include: new raised access floor system, wall partitions throughout, gridded and MF ceilings as well as full M&E redesign and installation. Also includes replacing gas services, air-conditioning, MCW, drainage and compressed air services. Extensive data, CCTV, door access control and security speed gate systems.8build have years of industry experience and a great approach to construction. Decoration works are now well underway and require a high specification finish to walls, varnished oak doors, skirting and final touches. The project completion is expected to be on time early April.

Leading and managing site activities as well as enforcing health and safety processes, on a series of CAT A and CAT B internal fit out projects, to deliver high spec laboratory and office environments for key clients. A 4 million-pound project refurbishing two highly serviced teaching laboratories for Cambridge University. The laboratories contain 32 working stations all linked with a complex fume extract and hazardous material and radiation containment systems. The labs also have office areas with new glazed partition walls and external window replacements. Other services replaced include high speed data, nitrogen, high pressure waste, vacuum, and air conditioning units. The project also required a large scaffold scheme for the replacement of plant room air handling units and extract fans along with roof repair works. Supporting with the management of high-end kitchen projects primarily in Central London, including five star rated hotels and Michelin starred restaurants, for a company with a temporary peak in work volume.

Managing kitchen design and install projects valued up to £430,000 to a wide range of organisations including well known commercial, education, healthcare, finance and restaurant brands with sites in the eastern region of the UK. This included input to design, client management and multiple sub-contractor management (builders, electricians, catering technicians, cold room specialists, plumbers, counter fabricators).Supervising subcontractors on sites. Constant communication between account managers, sales and support teams was essential in order to deliver the specific (and often highly unique) customer requirements in line with their expectations. A contract role assisting with project design and delivery for the company’s ‘Food Pioneers’ pipeline. Food Pioneers projects included rapidly growing brands and restaurant concepts, with successful operations expanding into multiple locations.  This position was based from home, with frequent travel to sites and Advance’s head office.

Responsible for managing catering projects for the primary client account within the Hobart service department. These projects ranged from small pub and listed building refurbishments, to complete new build acquisitions. Tasked with ensuring each project is successfully delivered on time and on budget. Led a team of CAD specialists, installation technicians, and administration staff, I’m able to progress catering projects from the approval and design stages all the way to installation, commissioning and handover.Managed installations for the following restaurant brands: All Bar One, Browns, Toby Carvery, Ember Inn, Harvester and Village Pub and Dining.

MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Addenbrokes, CambridgeThis £242 million laboratory and research facility was approved to be built on the Addenbrokes site in Cambridge, designed to provide a highly advanced scientific environment with state-of-the-art facilities. I was employed on the project by the principle contractor, BAM Construction, after the piling was completed, to assist the number one Site Manager and team in the overall orchestration of this challenging and complex build. During the 2-year long build I provided day-to-day support including organising technical details and specifications for items such as temporary works, crane lifts, cladding, structural steel connections, building partition layout information and services drawings. I also performed daily walk-around with Site Managers to inspect and ensure safe working practices were in place for the whole workforce of more than 500 personnel, and that MEWP and other hire equipment was certified and used correctly.Over and above assisting on site in this capacity, the MRC Lab project provided me with a great insight to complex mechanical and ductwork systems, as the building famously incorporates interstitial floors for every floor of working laboratories, all with strict noise and vibration criteria to be met. I accepted responsibility for implementing a new site-wide PDA snagging process, including assisting all Site Managers with the new snagging systems from head office. I provided training and demonstration to managers in a group capacity to improve efficiency and accuracy in closing out snagging items with subcontractors.

Produced accurate and correct cad drawings for multidisciplinary consultancy, consisting of environmental, structural, civil and mechanical departments.
