As Senior Technical Scientist and Preclinical Lead my main responsibilities include Peptide Characterisation, Peptide Quantification, Peptide Bioavailability and Protein/Peptide Mechanism of Action.

I am part of the proteomics team at Nuritas working in R&D and preparing samples. My main responsibilities include: - Processing samples for mass spectrometry, where I have processed over 3000 samples to date. - Develop and refine sample processing. For example, I have developed a plasma stability assay and SOP. - RNA/DNA protein prep- Pitching new developments in assay techniques- Present results every month to the entire company- Maintain high standard of lab records - Advise team members and management on lab techniques and how to improve quality - Collaborate with and support other teams

I completed 2 years of a PhD on the Epigenetics of Schizophrenia. The aim of the project was to discover epigenetic factors that could be a biomarker for the disease and a possible mechanism for drug action. During my PhD studies I’ve shown my ability to adapt to different research techniques, work under my own initiative, teach undergraduate students and meet strict deadlines.

As an associate researcher, I investigated gene editing tools and successfully developed a gene splicing tool for selective loci analysis.

At Genentech I worked in drug development and carried out the following duties: - Utilised cutting edge CRISPR gene editing technology when little optimisation or quality control existed at this time.- Successfully presented a gene knockout and created stable clones with no expression. - Carried out thorough analysis of gene knockout through PCR, flow cytometry and biochemical assay.- Presented my results as a poster to the Diabetes department in Genentech.
