Ben Eagle is a Head of People and Development at Advanced Secure Technologies. He possess expertise in new business development, strategic planning, safety management systems, construction management, event management and 14 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "I have had the pleasure of working with Ben in my role as Students' Union President over the last year. Ben has not only been an outstanding pillar of support for myself and my team, but has been at the helm of some transformative new initiatives for Cardiff University Students’ Union. In the relatively short time that Ben has been in his role as Director of Operations, he has led on a range of varied projects that have not only had a positive impact on the organisation, but the 30,000 members it represents too. Ben has managed numerous capital developments at both the Students’ Union’s Park Place site and its smaller site on the Heath Park Campus. Most notably, a £3.4M redevelopment, which overhauled the way in which the Students’ Union building was used and how the organisation was perceived by stakeholders. This project alone had a range of complications such as short time-scales, a myriad of objectives to meet and the management of multiple contractors, but all were done with absolute professionalism and the critical management of stakeholder expectations with outstanding results. In addition to capital developments, Cardiff University Students’ Union’s HR provision has been transformed under Ben’s leadership. The organisation now manages a modern, forward-thinking and accessible HR department that has seen exceptional results. Not only does the Students’ Union now have robust systems, policies and procedures in place to support its 400+ staff but its excellence has been recognised with Best Companies Status, placement in the Times Top 100 NFP Organisations To Work For league and Investors In People Gold Status. Ben is a natural leader, totally dependable and unfailingly good humoured even when faced with the most unenviable of tasks. As my term as President comes to an end, I am excited to see how Cardiff University Students' Union continues to grow with Ben’s vision as Director of Operations."
