Ben is an agricultural property and process expert, with an extensive background in analysing agricultural and farming systems internationally. With bachelor’s degrees in Law and Business Management (majoring in real estate development), Ben combines a strong academic background with specific and relevant experience. Ben is currently undertaking a Nuffield Farming Scholarship investigating how intensive farming operations can effectively manage waste for organic fertiliser production, soil conditioning, or as an input to cogeneration of renewable energy.The poultry sector has already benefited from his expertise, with Ben managing a business which is utilising processed chicken shed waste as a compost for the horticulture industry. His expertise will be employed within the Fund to analyse the highest and best use of organic waste streams and to assess the application of renewable energy technologies to reduce the input costs of poultry production.
