I use my understanding of the ins and outs of network protocols to catch bugs in protocol behavior on CPE (SOHO hardware). The goal is to ensure that Verizon CPE is as robust as possible providing customers with high availability and reliability. Some of my interesting findings have helped prevent things like unintentional NTP DDOS attacks and routing failures.Much of my time is spent in Wireshark looking at the TCP/IP suite (including IPv6) with great detail and at the Linux command line. I enjoy the flexibility of virtualization with Proxmox and have incorporated much networking capabilities into my testing with Junos (Juniper),I have also become well acquainted with IPv6 as Verizon has been rolling it out to the Fios network.Due to a push from upper management to increase automation I took my learning further by diving deep into Robot Framework and Python and have written numerous scripts for test automation. This includes packet analysis and packet crafting using the scapy library. Our team also uses the CDRouter system and I have become involved in automating part of that workflow as well as closely analyzing the test results.When I do find issues or bugs I strive to report them in the most clear and concise fashion. The report will always include detailed information about the issue and exact steps to reproduce it.

Tech Support: software installation, file restoration, hardware related problems. Utilized a ticketing system to track status of requests.Project Coordination: Participated in the system design stage of projects and prepared requisite documentation. Collaborated with vendors, stakeholders, and management through the entirety of the project life-cycle.Designed network topology solutions for growing networks. Firewall and router configuration (port forward rules, content inspection filter, DHCP, etc.).Maintained working backups of critical network files. Scheduled automated backup jobs and restored files when needed. Troubleshooted failed backup jobs and monitored overall health/performance of backup server.Physical Security Controls: Oversaw, maintained, and monitored surveillance and physical access control systems to enhance campus-wide security.Database administration: Set user permissions, corrected user input errors, designed reports, educated users about new features.Documentation: Wrote SOPs and maintain a well organized knowledge base for future reference.
