I joined Apperio as their third employee, and as such have been involved in almost all aspects of the product / company over the years, from who we hire to what technologies we use.I've contributed to a large section of the codebase, notably a read optimised eventually consistent analytics engine that powers the rest of the application. My most significant contribution however is arguably in helping build a culture that promotes personal growth while empowering engineers to change / introduce processes that benefit them and the way the want to work.

The technological side of this role involved my making significant contributions to the reverse engineering of Apple's iCloud service and the data contained within. On top of this I was involved in building a simple API for clients to consume this decrypted data without exposing the proprietary cryptographic IP.I was also responsible for the training and management of members of my team, cultivating their growth through one-to-ones, regular tech discussions and providing time for their own education (videos, books, talks etc).
