As the Interim Roster Coordinator at Access Pro Bono Society of BC, Ben is responsible for assessing the merit of cases ranging from family and criminal issues to appeals, before distributing them to a roster of nearly 150 lawyers. Once a case was approved for distribution he is responsible for preparing legal memoranda and case briefs regarding the particulars of each case. As an intern for QCAT, Ben worked with Senior Members of the tribunal to conduct legal research to cases being heard on a daily basis. Ben's work included drafting memorandums, appeals and reasons for rulings. Ben's case summaries can be found on www.austlii.edu.au and www.qcat.qld.gov.au.

As a Legal Research Assistant at the Open Society Institute, Ben conducting legal research into multiple issues including torture in Central Asia, and the denial of medical care in pre-trial detention. Ben's work was then integrated with leading lawyers research to be presented to multiple organisations in order to get further funding to effect change in the areas being researched.

As the Front End Supervisor at the Real Canadian Superstore, Ben was responsible for a staff of 60 individuals. Ben's duties included dealing with payroll, customer and staff complaints and communicating with the Union.
