Key Responsibilities:• Serve as key member of the Senior Leadership Team and the County’s Chief Information Security Officer.• Support 20+ unique departments ranging from Fire/EMS/Sheriff’s Office to Voter Registration & Elections. This presents a unique and challenging opportunity to provide support for various technology, systems and security frameworks in each department.• Lead and direct the IT Department including strategy, staff, performance management, vendor management, mentoring and coaching direct reports, SaaS and cloud providers, application management, service level agreements (SLA), project management, Service Desk, IT documentation, policies and procedures, procurement, performance metrics, IT infrastructure and architecture, WAN/LAN, software and hardware lifecycle management, disaster recovery, and information security.• Responsible for developing, planning, and monitoring the information technology budget and prioritizing projects and strategic initiatives.• Develop, implement and grow the County’s Information Security Program to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of County information systems and meet the requirements of Virginia Locality Election Security Standards (LESS), PCI-DSS, HIPAA, CJIS and NIST SP 800-53. Includes keeping the Board fully informed via presentations.• Serve as senior network/systems engineer on staff.• Manage County communication towers, translator television and ensure FCC and FAA compliance.• Oversee the County’s Business Continuity Program, including: the Alternate Work Facility (AWF), Risk Register, Business Continuity Plan and the Crisis Management Plan.

Served as the Windows and Citrix Team Lead for the Navy Enterprise Maintenance Automated Information System (NEMAIS) Project on Naval Station Norfolk.NEMAIS Key Responsibilities:• Managed and led a team of six Windows and Citrix administrators.• Served as the technical lead on various IT projects.• Responsible for delegating tasks, and ensuring that all Windows and Citrix Team activities were planned, scheduled and completed in a timely and effective manner.• Completed and managed yearly performance reviews, coordinated team meetings and training sessions. • Responsible for monitoring, configuring, maintaining, documenting and troubleshooting a multiple Windows 2003 Active Directory domain enterprise infrastructure which supports over 4000 users.• Coordinated with Network, Network Security, UNIX, Applications and Operations Teams to ensure tasks were performed effectively and efficiently.• Responsible for ensuring project schedules and performance requirements were met.• Worked with team members to interpret and implement Communication Tasking Orders (CTO) and Information Vulnerability Management (IAVM) as required.• Performed research and implemented DISA STIGs.• Interacted with vendors to resolve issues and coordinates on site visits.• Performed ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.• Performed daily system monitoring which includes verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, and reviewing event logs.• Monitored, troubleshot, and migrated Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.
