Passion project. I went from competing for wins on the simulator in the cafe, to joining my main rival’s iRacing team, to leading the new Sim Room when it opened in November of ‘22. I’m now curating and participating in motorsport experiences for and with individuals, groups and teams. Playing Race Director, Driver Coach and Engineer is the most fun I’ve had in a role to date.

After trying to do my job at OFL and at the same time manage my Esports team, I found myself needing a break from a toxic office environment. When a parent suggested the grocery delivery role, I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. I found myself enjoying a healthier lifestyle, seeing daylight and pleasing customers. This role was soul food. I had not long taken the Team Leader role when the COVID pandemic hit I found myself in a highly valued role with a purpose. However when I spotted the role at Podium that seemed perfect for me, I knew it was time to move on.

In the dark of night, I used my passions for racing and marketing create and grow a team called AMR Esports. At its peak, was leading 20 drivers and two regional team heads. I enjoyed leadership and the creative freedom I had in creating posters and editing videos, and also over brand decisions. I hosted events on Sundays called #TCSFreeSundays. My proudest moment was watching live as the team’s design artist was interviewed for the global Forza Racing World Championship finals.

At OFL I was leading the US market penetration mainly using the Google AdWords platform. Our ads ranged from top-of-funnel Display (image) ads, to Search and finally Shopping ads, focused on e-commerce conversions. This role would largely be taken over by Google’s AI. So after a period of developing an interest in User Experience and website design, I would go on to assist the main UK business with online promotions and SEO. I also got to work on a brochure campaign with the design team.

My first role out of university. Here I learned about online and offline marketing in a B2B environment. After a period of working on social media and email marketing, writing tweets and constructing emails, I was keen to learn more about SEO, websites and digital advertising. PPC advertising became my focus. This lead to my move to B2C company OFL to work on developing their US account.

I was recruited while at college as a Junior Trustee, and went on to become a Trustee/Director. This was during a particularly difficult time for charities in the wake of the financial crisis and the rise of a conservative government, which ultimately led to smaller budgets for the type of services the charity offered. And so, strategy and business plans were the defining aspects during my time at BY. This gave me an insight into local government procurement, business model development, and fundraising.
