Gather testable requirements and develop test plans, test cases, and test team. Oversee execution of tests and help resolve test exceptions utilizing expertise from multiple groups, including Instrumentation and Control Maintenance, IT, Corporate IT, Operations, System’s Engineering, and Design Engineering to design, verify, validate, and install the final design. (The Limerick Project will replace the legacy plant process computer system for Unit 1 and Unit 2 of the Limerick Generating Station.) • Manage schedule of direct report, including training, overseeing tasks, and ensuring timely completion of project. • Review and communicate gaps in vendor-produced test documentation compared to system functional requirements.• Develop site test plan to provide a high level strategy for testing each individual application. Upgraded the current HNP Turbine Control System to a modern distributed control system (DCS). Prepared digital design requirements to guide the development, implementation, and integration of the new DCS. (The Turbine Control System is a SIL (system integrity level) 3 system. To meet the necessary rigor of this SIL level, IEEE guidance is followed throughout the life cycle as well as well-defined engineering change procedures used within Duke Energy.) • Ensured all requirements for the TCS upgrade met the IEEE definition of a well-defined requirement.• Served as an independent peer reviewer on engineering change documentation.• Implemented a new project requirement traceability program to closely watch and trace the whole software life cycle internally with input from vendor. Controlled project traceability and application lifecycle process.• Provided detailed engineering reviews of delivered project documentation and software. • Developed engineering change package detailing changes to the current system and feeding into the installation and testing work orders. • Performed the FMEA (failure modes and effects analysis) of the current Turbine Control System to ensure removal of single points of failure, both digital and mechanical.
