I have worked as a Lifeguard at Kings School Community Centre in Winchester for over a year. This responsible job role shows that I am capable of performing well under pressure and am motivated, hard working and adaptable. My Lifeguard responsibilities included overseeing the whole sight was running smoothly, including the pool, sports hall and astro turf. During my time as a lifeguard, I have dealt with a footballer's broken leg which involved clearing the pool, calling an ambulance and wrapping the casualty in a foil blanket to prevent hypothermia whilst waiting for the ambulance. I have also dealt with an incident where a child had run away from home and came to the school in a distressed state. Whilst reassuring the child, the team called the police to support a safe resolution. These situations demonstrate my ability to react calmly to unexpected situations and think under pressure to mitigate the issue at hand.
