The Occasion Co. is a laser cutting and engraving company creating bespoke decor and personalised gifts for weddings, nursery, home etc. The website and back-end of the store was fully customised by me, in addition to content, SEO and all initial artwork needed to produce our products. Me and my partner run the business in our spare time tending to the ever changing needs for SEO and digital advertisement, along with new product development and designs/styles. It has been a fun project and a steep learning curve, however, a rewarding and memorable one. We smashed our first year sales target and are seeing continuous growth. We continue to learn new ways of doing things and upgrading the business as a whole, including the purchase of new machines and equipment. Not to mention continuing to add innovative products to our growing catalogue.

Starting as a trainee, I worked in the Data Processing department at The Anton Group, one of Europe's largest Direct Mail companies. I worked towards strict deadlines for some of the largest companies from within the UK and various International clients, many of these being banks, telecommunication companies, supermarkets etc, creating general direct mail i.e. postcards, letters etc, as well as more complicated items such as variable scratchcards, and statements etc.I have 4 years experience in GMC Inspire, PReS and data cleansing using Cygnus. I also have experience using the GMC Automation software and Microsoft Visual Foxpro. Every job includes preparing variable data and graphics ready for use on the Kodak Nexpress, Kodak Prosper Inkjet heads, and various Laser, Digital and Inkjet machines. I have also helped complete election jobs for different countries around the world, the largest containing almost 100 million ballot papers spread over nearly 3,000 different artworks. Bespoke coding was used to merge the huge amount of data and match multiple artworks on sheets to save time ensuring the month long project was complete on time.
