As the Employer Initiatives Division director I mange the Department’s efforts to outreach to businesses regarding workforce needs.•My responsibilities at DWS have been to oversee programs and staff that align industry demand with workforce supply.•Major Accomplishments: Development and implementation of the Small Business Bridge Program, restructure of the Utah Cluster Acceleration Partnership, development and implementation of the STEMLinks K-12 grant program.

Economic Development/Redevelopment Specialist:• Project Manager for all Layton City business recruitment efforts and redevelopment initiatives.• Handle the day to day operations of the Redevelopment Agency of Layton City. • Recruit and guide businesses looking to locate in the City. This includes working through entitlement processes, working with internal City departments, working with tax increment processes and providing superior client support. • Responsible for contract generation and negotiation on all project managed files.• Coordinate efforts of real estate professionals, including agents, attorneys, financial institutions, developers, elected officials, trade organizations, economic development groups, etc., to ensure successful development projects. • Major Project Supervision: East Gate Business/Research Park (including: Tax Increment Project Area formation, business recruitment, infrastructure planning, landowner coordination, Hill Air Force Base coordination); Old Downtown Redevelopment (including: tax increment, business recruitment, South Layton Interchange coordination, affordable housing analysis).CDBG Administrator• Brought on to resolve troubled Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Produced and initiated procedures that resulted in cleared audit findings and a substantially compliant program.• Disburse and monitor CDBG funds given to non-profit agencies. • Interface with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. • Responsible for negotiating contracts governing the granting of CDBG funds.• Synergize resources from several Layton City departments to ensure successful oversight of the CDBG program.• Major Project Supervision: Camelot and Whiteside Neighborhood sidewalk revitalization programs; Family Connection Center Program Partnership; Davis School District Career and Technical Education Moderate Income Housing Construction Program Partnership.

• Officer level position within the Bank. Responsible for reviewing and analyzing consumer and commercial financial statements to determine credit eligibility. Performed necessary write-ups outlining financial, credit, history, projections, and financial capabilities. Authorized to extend credit to worthy applicants.

• Determined eligibility for mortgagers who defaulted on their loans for various FHA home retention methods. This included collecting financial statement and history, credit review and ensuring compliance with FHA policy. • Worked with Title Companies, Appraisers, Realtors, Attorneys and other professionals to complete Loss Mitigation efforts.• Collected past due payments from delinquent home owners.• Responsible for maintaining Utah Housing Corporation bankruptcy portfolio. Worked with legal counsel to file motions, approve bankruptcy schedules and trustee abandonments. Prepare evidence and paper work for hearings and participate in court proceedings as needed. Responsible for all correspondence between Utah Housing Corporation and mortgagers who are in Bankruptcy.• Responsible for Accounts Payable for invoices submitted to UHC Servicing division.• Given several short term projects to coordinate and manage, including research studies and organizing economic data. These studies were recognized for their contribution to the department.• Resolved credit disputes and worked with other lenders to ensure correct credit reporting. Given progressive responsibility because of ability to work with difficult personalities.
