Whilst at college studying graphic design and media I started out with Forest Holidays as a team member supporting with retail and hospitality. This combined my love for the outdoors and nature with great customer service. In this role I was given the opportunity to shadow the Marketing team which gave me a hint of what other roles were available working with organisations connected to the outdoors.Then leaving Forest Holidays to study Graphic Design at Leeds Beckett, I had the personal challenge of raising at child at the age of 19 whilst studying my degree. This gave me a completely different mindset about my approach to my work and my personal goals and aspirations.COVID-19 hit in my second year of university giving me a chance to move back to Scarborough and learn how to work remotely for the remainder of my degree, this posed many challenges of balancing family and work which I still proud myself on.Starting my Creative Design role at Cresco prior to finishing my final year of university gave me a valuable kickstart to my career in the creative field. Within this role I gained experience of collaborating with other creative businesses, developing marketing assets and creating brands for clients from a range of industries.Moving on to Forestry England I found the opportunity to explore my love of the outdoors within my day to day job. Breaking into a new area of creativity with marketing has given me opportunity to support our team in Yorkshire to showcase our work in the best way possible. I am also developing my creativity with a variety of projects that provide value to our visitors.
