I represented a major Persian Gulf civil construction company in a multi-party international construction arbitration. My responsibilities included assisting counsel with the preparation of witness statements, preparation of narratives for use during arbitration, review of expert reports, review of disclosure documents, and preparation of court files.

I represented a major British bank being investigated in relation to alleged manipulation of the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR). The role included providing advice on complex banking and finance documentation and financial transactions, attending offices of the client to consider such documentation, and attending to reporting obligations to a number of financial regulators including the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Serious Fraud Office, and the United States Department of Justice.

While at Minter Ellison, I was a solicitor in the Commercial Litigation team. I provided advice: - to Government and private clients regarding complex and sensitive commercial disputes; - regarding dispute prevention and various forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR); and- regarding a range of matters including debt recovery, construction litigation, financial services claims, Government relations, procedural fairness, and claims under the scheme for compensation for detriment caused by defective administration (CDDA).I was involved regularly with the provision of strategic advice to Commonwealth and private clients where complex or sensitive matters of policy are involved. In such situations the primary focus was the avoidance or minimisation of disputes. I have conducted and assisted with proceedings in a variety of jurisdictions including the Federal Court of Australia, State District and Local Courts, NSW Supreme Court, ACT Supreme Court, ACT Magistrates Court, and the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal.Myself and my team were particularly experienced with providing advice on relationships between the public and private sectors. In particular, our knowledge of the commercial imperatives of private industries as well as the policy, public and commercial priorities of government make us best placed to advise either side on the best means of preventing or resolving disputes in the most effective and efficient manner. I have previously worked in Minter Ellison's Corporate and Property teams where I assisted with providing advice on and preparing Commonwealth leasing documentation. I also assisted with a number of large-scale Commonwealth procurements from the Request for Tender stage to the negotiation of contracts with successful tenderers.

Jigsaw Theatre Company was established in 1974 as a producer of professional theatre for young audiences. The company creates and stages innovative, quality theatre for young audiences aged from 4 to 18. For almost four decades, Jigsaw Theatre Company has maintained a key role in the national youth arts landscape through its commitment to high quality work and its recognition of the need to change in response to the changing demands of both its audience and the industry.As Public Officer and member of the Board of Directors I was involved with, alongside the general duties of the Public Officer, decision-making regarding the company's financial and strategic position, as well as engaging with the Artistic Directorate to ensure their artistic and creative vision is achieved as best as possible. I also assisted with negotiations surrounding engagement contracts with the Artistic Directorate, the General Manager and a number of commissioned artists. I have assisted with the development of the Artistic Directorate framework and the company's Business Plan. I also assist where necessary with regular administrative tasks, such preparing correspondence with funding bodies, sponsors and donors. I have been involved with the recruitment of the company's new Creative Producer which has involved conducting in-person interviews and speaking with candidates' referees. I am also regularly involved in discussions and negotiations with government and funding bodies to ensure the company maintains its strong relationship with local and national governments and councils and to ensure the company is best placed to receive ongoing funding and sponsorship.

As editor I was responsible for the editorial content of BMA, a fortnightly street press publication of 40-64 pages and a print run of 20,000. My job included:- Liaising with promoters, managers, marketing officers, venue owners, advertisers, artists, musicians, festival organisers, producers, venue bookers- Organising interviews with musicians, artists, actors, writers, promoters- Managing a team of >30 writers who contributed above-mentioned interviews, feature articles, reviews, columns, commentary and news pieces- Managing writers to ensure editorial was submitted on time, in correct format, correct length, appropriate content etc- Working with the magazine's graphic designer to design the layout of the magazine (including placement of editorial and advertising) using InDesign- Employing new writers and contributors - Managing sub-editors and graphic designers- Editing editorial content- Liaising with printing companies

During my time as the ACT Advocacy Division Manager my role was to engage with the public, schools and politicians about the Oaktree Foundation and in particular its focus on education and public dialogue. I was in charge of a team of six volunteers, with my job involving a broad range of activities including speaking to school assemblies, meeting with ACT and Federal politicians and speaking on radio regarding Oaktree's purpose and policy platforms. A major aspect of the Oaktree's Canberra branch was engagement with the Federal Government and lobbying to raise awareness of Oaktree's policies and goals and to maintain Oaktree's relationship with Federal politicians and ensure Oaktree maintained an amicable and non-confrontational lobbying approach. As part of the organisation's general awareness-raising I was involved with speaking to university students and high school students, as well as undertaking public engagement in shopping centres. During my tenure I organised a forum on child labour and child slavery at the Australian Academy of Science which included speakers from the Anti-Slavery Project, TEAR, Fairtrade Australia and Amnesty International and was attended by over 200 people.
