Responsible for control, supply and purchase of all direct materials & inventory for all MRI production lines for a fast moving high technology medical device manufacturing facility.Key AchievementsAssumed responsibility all of supply chain planning controls by developing a process for managing the Master Production Schedule. Utilising ERP/MRP system for production facility to ensure all components were ordered and delivered on time. Resulting in zero shortages on the various production lines and ensuring that product was available to ship to the customer when planned.Managed and controlled an Inventory level of up to £11m. Implemented a new process to cycle count and measure inventory accuracy. Also devised and modified new procedures for stores personnel to enable them to control inventory accuracy and maintain transactional rigour. Resulted in an increased accuracy from 75.4% to 99.6%.Implementation of a new fully integrated ERP system (Oracle 11i) for the manufacturing facility. Created and tested processes to ensure all functions worked effectively & efficiently. Also involved in training personnel on new system. A smooth transition was made to the new system.

All materials were delivered on time and to budget.Successfully performed the role of progress chaser to ensure all materials arrived on time to satisfy production demand and KPI targets.EARLIER APPOINTMENTS

Role expanded to include management of planning and sourcing of high profile engineering projects and New Product introductions. Received multiple performance awards for over achievements in this role.Key AchievementsDelivered an XRMW MRI gradient from an £80K prototype to a New Product Introduction with a target of £25K. Project managed the sourcing plan, which included supplier selection, budget control, managed & mitigated risks to the supply chain and presented in weekly project reviews. The new product was delivered on time and under budget by 5%.Developed strong supplier relationships with new global suppliers in China, Mexico and USA. Achieved utilising GE's global supply network to indentify possible suppliers for new high technology components by working with the suppliers to communicate cost targets and quality requirements. Resulted in good quality components delivered on time with all cost targets achieved.Sourced all components for a brand new, high profile GE "Imagination breakthrough" project that had many technical challenges. Worked closely with the suppliers and design & engineering leaders to communicate technical specifications and resolved issues with the manufacture of the components. This enabled a prototype to be delivered to deadline, to budget and worked first time.Project managed a global quality initiative to ensure all suppliers were qualified to the new global quality management system. Achieved by categorising each supplier by criticality of components supplied, analysing defect data and obtaining regulatory certifications and audits records. Resulted in a complete and a fully auditable Approved Supplier list and improved product quality.
