I carried out an Engineering Apprenticeship in Escalator Maintenance and Repair. During this Apprenticeship I attended College to complete a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Electronic/Electrical Engineering. I achieved a double award of Distinction Merit (DM). I also carried out training at the Acton Training Centre. Here I worked to complete an NVQ Level 2 in General Engineering. For this I worked in a workshop which had 4 different areas in which we had to become competent: Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Electronics and Bench Work (Metal work and engineering processes). I Completed this in August 2014. After this I went to join the Engineers at the Lifts and Escalators Department of London Underground. Here I spent time in various placements learning about different parts of the department and carrying out work on my NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance and Repair. I spent time with departments such as: Escalator Refurbishment, Lifts, Pumps, Escalator Maintenance, Inspection and the Tester Adjusters. I completed the NVQ Level 3 in July 2016 and I am currently in the process of signing a permanent contract with London Underground.
