Rotational wellsite drilling engineer for HPHT exploratory wells on semi-submersible & jackup rigs in the North Sea. Duties include:1). Monitoring the daily progress of well operations. Keep track of current daily costs, comparing actual costs with expenditure proposals and recommending cost-effective changes.2). Ensuring Process Safety Information (PSI) is integrated in the day to day operations and processes.3). Help compile daily drilling reports, weekly lessons learned database, biweekly HSE conferences and conduct morning calls with the Aberdeen onshore office drilling superintendent & senior drilling engineers.4). Work with multidisciplinary personnel & services to evaluate the commercial viability of the well and monitor progress during drilling.

1). Implemented and followed the Nexen Well Delivery Process (WDP) for completion operations, ensuring a consistent approach to all factors which influence Process Safety Management (PSM). These included the application of sound completion design, planning and operational practices that meet regulatory requirements.2). Conducted and stewarded Hazard Identification & Risk Analysis (HIRA) sessions during the WDP prior to operations commencement.3). Engineered the primary abandonment of oil & gas wells in compliance with Alberta Energy Regulator Directive 20 (D-020). These included sour and sweet operations, some within urban proximities. Monitored the daily progress of well operations. 4). Kept track of current daily costs, comparing actual costs with expenditure proposals and recommending cost-effective changes. 5). Defined operational requirements to meet Nexen safety and operational standards focused on PSM.6). Engineered the secondary abandonment of wells with surface casing vents flows. This included working with vendors, excavating and bringing the wellbore to surface, designing a drill string for the drilling of cement and the execution of Bradenhead, Suicide squeeze cement jobs.7). Assisted engineering the zonal abandonment of an HPHT well in excess of 70 MPa. Operations included removal of hydrates with coiled tubing and snubbing tubing into high pressures.8). Ensured any changes, modifications, or upgrades to the completion programs follow the Management of Change (MOC) process, and then lead the implementation of the change.9). Delivered project cost estimates and negotiated vendor contracts.

1). Assisted the drilling team in identifying abandoned surface holes in the oil sand asset, and helped accurately construct the wellbore event. From this, the wells were brought into compliance in line with AER directives, and better standards of practice for the engineering team was developed. 2). Helped the Abandonment team create missing legacy wells in Wellview to have complete documentation. This will help foster a better standard of practice for the engineering teams to follow. 3). Completed work using various software packages including Wellview, Spotfire, Openwells and Mircosoft Excel.

1). Involved in the project evaluation and economic viability of horizontal plunger lift systems in the Denver-Julesburg Basin with production packers in the wells. Made recommendations for well optimization 2). Created a workover cost summary sheet of the major intervention activities in the Wattenberg field. In doing so, this will help create more accurate budgets and AFE's
