1. Lead calibrator for an entire vehicle line. Responsibilities include:• Emissions certification for each model year as well as after any changes to vehicle functionality are implemented. • Fuel economy label certification. Involves developing and completing full verification to prove to the EPA that changes made to the vehicle calibration do not adversely affect fuel economy.• Drivability refinements, which include testing around the United States to cover all operating conditions.• Diagnosis and resolution of customer complaints in the field. Requires developing a test plan and timeline for resolution that was communicated to multiple departments• Generating new vehicle calibrations and coordinating the release timeline with 6 other departments. 2. Developed an empirical control model from scratch for a throttled high temperature water pump as well as a low temperature water pump used for charge air cooling on a forced induction engine. • Worked with the controls group to develop a robust control strategy that would cover all operating conditions including fast warmup, over temperature protection, and optimal fuel economy positioning.• Created Simulink markups for changes to the system and tested and validated the systems in the vehicle.3. Leader of an internal Center Of Excellence group for the thermal systems of a new engine program (cooling for the engine which included coolant control valves, electric pump, and mechanically throttled pump). The COE provided expertise to the rest of the company on anything relating to the thermal systems. • Held weekly meetings along with presentations to upper management.• Created calibration guides and overviews for the responsible systems.• Interfaced with the controls and OBD groups to ensure proper actuator function both in vehicle and on dynos
