The novel part of the company was I sold and then purchased stock, so I had no inventory, this allowed me to exploit the benefits of the low cost of online selling and “the long tail” phenomena. To achieve zero inventory I designed, then commissioned, a near real time server side piece of software, which downloaded prices from my supplier added on a fixed and % element then uploaded the selling price to my online shop. I had 100% authority and autonomy for the business.
